New to the calculator? For a general introduction to the Days Off Calculator and what it does, visit the about-the-calculator page. In addition to this Windows version of the calculator, there is also a Web version, which includes many of the calculation and reporting options of the Windows version. The Web version runs inside your browser. There is no special download required; it simply appears as any other Web page. Like the Windows version, the Web version is free. We suggest that you try the Web version first, then return here to download the Windows version if you like what you see. You can also check the version comparison page to decide which version is right for you. The calculator is freeware. You can download it free. There is no registration; we don't collect any information about you. This is not a demo or trial version - it's the full program. The calculator requires Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, or later, and about 3.7 megabytes of disk space. There is no "adware" or "spyware" embedded in the program. We don't track your use of it in any way. The current Windows version of the calculator is version 5.1. If you've used a previous version, check our what's new page for a list of some of the new features in version 5.1. Download the calculator Click here to download the Days Off Calculator. The download is about 3.7 megabytes in size. At typical dial-up modem speeds, it will take about 12 minutes. Installation and uninstallation To install the calculator: The file you downloaded - days.exe (depending on your system settings, the name might be displayed as "days" without the ".exe") - is the calculator. There isn't any installation process - you can use the calculator just as it is, from the folder to which you downloaded it, from your desktop, or from any other folder into which you choose to move it. As you use the calculator, it does create a few small files: Days.ini to hold your settings, days51help.html which contains the calculator's help information and which is created the first time you use the Help menu, and Daysdata.txt to hold employee names and shift data if you enter these. All of these files are stored in the same folder as days.exe. To uninstall the calculator, just delete days.exe. It's also safe to delete Days.ini, as well as days51help.html if it exists. Any employee names and shift data you've entered are stored in Daysdata.txt, so if you need to retain that information, keep that file. |
